Indraco is a world-class coffee producer that has been in business for almost 35 years. We are proud of our long heritage and our reputation in producing innovative and high quality coffee products that meet our customers’ and consumers’ distinct tastes.

Tjokro Tjanto in Sumatera started UD. Intisari, today known as PT. Indraco Jaya Perkasa, in 1971. At that time Tjokro Tjanto was dissatisfied with the quality of blended coffee in the market. He believed so strongly in the marketability of a good quality blended coffee which made him quit his job and risk all he had to start producing his own brand of blended coffee.

Under the brand named “Rasa Sayang” and “Tugu Buaya”, Tjokro used his knowledge of the good methods for producing the Shanghainese style of coffee roasting to make his own blended coffee in a small werehouse behind his house.

He used hand operated equipment, which produced about 50 kilos of blended coffee per hour. He delivered the blended coffee to small stores, kiosks and farmers surrounding his house. The demand for the coffee grew rapidly and Tjokro soon built a separate building close to his house. In 1977, Tjokro opened his second manufactory in Surabaya, East Java.

Tjokro and his team have been doing some major expansion of Indraco Operations. The steady growth of Indraco is the reflection of the quality, the facilities, the products and the people. Both definition management and the dedication of the people have produced the best coffee products for more than 35 years.
